There are instances where the river across which the dam is built is so large that the quantities of water harvested are well viable for distribution.
In such instances the dams are further (to shallow well) designed with a sump and solar a distribution system which pumps the water from the dam to a more central place in the society.
The sump, which is technically a large underground holding point for the water, acts like a temporary hold tank from which the water is pumped to storage tanks upstream. It is from these storage tanks that the harvested water is distributed or served to the community members.
This project will thus come complete with water distribution pipes, two tanks of ten thousand litres capacity tanks and a distribution point, commonly known as a water kiosk_per phase.
